An Artist's Life™ Skye Workshop 2008 offers plein air and studio style painting at a gentle pace on this dramatic Hebridean island October 6 - 12 in the color filled Skye Autumn.
On Skye, you will enjoy your stay at a Country House Hotel
overlooking gardens, the sea and a backdrop of the Cuillin
mountains. Wholesome gourmet cooking in a relaxed country house
ambience. All meals (cooked to order) included.
Morning focus on
Experimentation & New Media, with demonstrations. Most mornings
you will enjoy the focus workshop where we stay - having the morning
focus at our 'home away from home' also gives us more time to
immerse ourselves and develop paintings in our 'home' landscape.
In the afternoon, Diane paints with you at painting sites that
include pastoral moorlands, majestic mountains, a castle and
gardens, peaceful lochs (inland lakes) and a traditional Highland
town. We arrive at these painting sites after our morning workshop
focus, sometimes with a picnic lunch, or after lunch.
On several evenings, you will enjoy seminars and slide
presentations created exclusively for the workshops. We gather
together for the evening seminars either before dinner with hors
d'ouevres, or after dinner with dessert.
Final Information Packet. When your final
payment is received, An Artist's Life™
will mail you a final information packet that includes details
regarding what travel documents you will require, contact
information, suggestions on what to wear, what to bring with you,
currency information, a suggested painting material and supply list,
and how to pack for ease of travel. Also a day-by-day Painting
Workshop itinerary as well as a 'before you go' reading list.
IMPORTANT NOTE: To avoid foreign currency shock, we have designed the workshop to include everything in dollars: instruction, transportation on Skye, accommodations, all meals. Any further outlay in pound sterling is kept to a minimum (e.g., travel arrangements before and after the workshop and/or any items of a personal nature are additional). Airfare is additional.
