ARTIST STATEMENT

Subjects in the physical world are merely vehicles for my painting. I do not attempt to replicate subject matter but, as an intuitive painter, I respond to the physical world in a visceral, meditative state driven passionately by color, light, and form.

My painting is explorative, evolving and multi-faceted finding expression within a broad range of stylistic genres from fauvist and impressionistic to expressionistic and abstract.

Acrylic Fusion© and Pastel Fusion© are unique processes that I began to create and develop in 2000 combining dry pigments, mica and luminescent paints. You will learn about and explore both of these proprietary processes when you join one of my Workshops or Master Classes in Oregon or on the Isle of Skye, Scotland.
